Counties and municipalities alike are required by law to inform the public about certain meetings, actions, and decisions. Making the required information about these events available to the public is referred to as providing “public notice.”
Utah Code §17-27a-2 and §10-9a-2 establish the minimum requirements that counties, cities, and towns must abide by when it comes to providing public notice for certain types of land use applications and processes.
Special Note: The Office of the Property Rights Ombudsman has provided funding for this training program from the 1% surcharge on all building permits in the State of Utah.
